Tom is responsible for Leeds City Council’s economic development, property and regeneration functions, and strategic policy on growth and the Northern Powerhouse. Tom is overseeing major regeneration and growth projects, including: the HS2 growth strategy for Leeds; the future proposals for Leeds railway station, the busiest station in the north; and Leeds South Bank, a 136 hectare regeneration opportunity in Leeds city centre.

Tom started his career with London First, the business-led campaign. Before joining Leeds City Council in 2012, Tom worked for Arup where he led the firm’s planning and economics practice in the north of England.

Rupert Visick is the Managing Director of Gent Visick, a successful commercial property agency based in Leeds and established in 2003. GV has historically focused on the industrial market sector and has been involved in a significant number of the regions premier development and regeneration opportunities. GV were recently appointed by Harworth Estates to provide strategic property development and agency advice on their extensive Yorkshire portfolio.

In the past 12 months Rupert has been involved in two of the most significant deals in Leeds acting for RBS in selling the Holbeck Portfolio, a significant portfolio of land in the South Bank to CEG and acting for KeyLand Developments in the sale of their interest in Temple Green to Harworth Estates.

James Bailey joined Hammerson in September as the General Manager of its Victoria Quarter in Leeds. He was previously the General Manager at Land Securities’ White Rose shopping centre. The Grade II-listed Victoria Quarter was acquired by Hammerson in September 2012. The 160,000-sq ft scheme is the leading luxury retail destination in Leeds. Its two distinct shopping streets - County Arcade and Queen Victoria Street - are anchored by Harvey Nichols, and home to brands such as Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, Vivienne Westwood and Reiss.
